THURSDAY’S BIG FIND

What If Your Favorite Christmas Memory Started in a Bake Shop?
Forget the perfectly wrapped presents for a minute. Imagine the smell of warm cinnamon rolls drifting through a kitchen, flour dusting the counter, and a yule log taking shape while someone explains how to get that chocolate frosting just right.
Outside, the Berkshires are settling into winter. Inside, Christmas is happening one delicious creation at a time.
And the best part? You don't have to host it, clean up afterward, or worry about whether the dessert turned out perfectly.
You just get to enjoy it.
A Holiday Tradition With a Very Delicious Twist

At Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts, a three-day experience called Traditions: A Holiday Baking Retreat is putting a fresh spin on the usual holiday getaway.
From December 11–13, 2026, guests can spend the weekend baking with pastry chef April Franqueza, Canyon Ranch's Chief Pastry Officer and a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker.
This isn't simply a demonstration where you watch someone else do all the work. The retreat includes hands-on workshops that explore festive breads, sourdough, yeasted rolls, and showstopping holiday desserts.
One of the highlights? Learning to make a yule log, the traditional Christmas dessert designed to resemble a little log from the fireplace. There's also a wreath pavlova, festive bread-making, and a holiday morning cinnamon roll experience.
Suddenly, your holiday baking list sounds a lot more fun.
But This Isn't Just About Dessert
Here's where the weekend becomes especially interesting for Wander & Reset.
Between baking sessions, there's time to enjoy the restorative side of Canyon Ranch. The retreat includes access to the resort's wellness, fitness, and spa experiences.
There's also a seasonal wine tasting, group dinners, and fireside gatherings that invite guests to slow down and enjoy the company around them.
On Saturday, the itinerary includes a walk through Stockbridge's holiday-decorated historic downtown, where festive decorations and local history make the outing feel like stepping into an old-fashioned New England Christmas.
And on the final morning, guests return to the Bake Shop to make cinnamon rolls, bringing the weekend to a close with one of the simplest pleasures of the season.
No complicated holiday hosting. No need to produce a picture-perfect celebration. Just a chance to learn something new, enjoy good food, and let someone else take care of the details.
The Place to Stay

Canyon Ranch Lenox sits in the Berkshires, a region known for its historic towns, countryside, and winter scenery.
The retreat includes all-inclusive, chef-crafted meals and refreshments, daily access to wellness and resort experiences, the scheduled baking workshops, and exclusive retreat gifts.
The experience is intentionally intimate, with space for just 15 guests.
The published starting rate is $1,395 per person, per night for double occupancy, or $1,550 for single occupancy, before taxes. The two-night retreat runs December 11–13, so check the official booking page for current availability and the full cost of your stay.
A Little Holiday Reset
We spend so much of December trying to make everything special for everyone else that we can forget to enjoy the season ourselves.
Maybe this year, the treat isn't another gift to buy or another party to organize.
Maybe it's two days spent learning a new recipe, sharing a meal with people you just met, taking a winter walk, and ending the evening somewhere warm by the fire.
Because the sweetest holiday traditions aren't always the ones we've been repeating for years. Sometimes, they're the ones we haven't tried yet.
Your Wander & Reset reminder: You deserve to enjoy the season, too. And if that means learning to make a beautiful yule log while someone else handles the dishes, that sounds like a pretty wonderful place to start.
Until Monday's next Weekend Find,
